Obituary for Dwayne R.R. Eilers

"This was my Dear Uncle Dwayne, (my parents were Ernest and Mary Eilers).He will be greatly missed I Loved him alot. He was designated as my God Father as well as my two younger Sisters Jodi and Dee. I have many fond ,loving memories of my uncle since early childhood in Lebanon,Oregon. I have early memories from the time i was like 2 or 3. I remember getting to have a sleep over with Aunt Karen and Uncle Dwayne where Mom forgot to pack jammies. I ended up sleeping in one of Uncle Dwaynes V neckT-shirts. Since that time a mens T-shirt was a favorite to sleep in. He and Aunt Karen were often around our home in the 1960s and visited us often usually yearly to every few years thereafter. He was a wonderful, Funny and yet stern man. He and my Father enjoyed doing many things together: Hunting,fishing,repairing,building,cars,playing cards, joking around. They had spent a rough childhood relying on each other lacking many of the essential emotional and physical things a child needs to grow up due to their Fathers alcoholism. My Mom Mary and Aunt Karen would often work on our halloween costumes of which one stands out. When I was 5, They made pink flannel top and pants jammies and they somehow used clothing hanger wires to make bunny ear head bands for us. Early in my childhood Uncle Dwayne and Karen had no children of their own and adopted a little girl named Katie she and I did sleep overs and played together alot. Holiday dinners at our home during our Lebanon, Oregon years often saw many of my Dad's brothers,Sister Aunt Marlys and familes present. Aunt Marlys' boys Terry and Rickie lived in our home for 6 months when very young as she went thru a divorce from an abusive husband. During our childhood we often saw Uncle Dwayne & Aunt Karen,Uncle Gary,Uncle Doug,on occassion Uncle Rudy, Uncle Percy, Uncle Orval, Uncle Irvin, and families.
