John Patrick Grover, 89, peacefully joined his heavenly Father on June 10, 2025, at ACCURA of Ames, following his journey with dementia.
Born on September 3, 1936, in Park Rapids, MN, John was the beloved son of Eunice and Elva Grover. He grew up in Park Rapids alongside his three older brothers—Pat, Charles, and Thomas. He graduated from Park Rapids High School in 1953.
In November 1954, John married the love of his life, MaryAnn Evans. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and cherished memories. A devoted Catholic, John served the Lord with joy, humor, and an unwavering spirit.
John honorably served in the 82nd Airborne during the Korean War before embarking on a successful career in sales. His passion for connecting with people made him a natural, and he took great pride in his work.
He found immense happiness in family vacations to northern Minnesota, creating treasured moments with his loved ones.
John is survived by his devoted wife of 70 years, MaryAnn of Ames, IA; his children, Steven (Colleen) of Waterloo, IA, Mark of Nevis, MN, and Cathy (Terry) Lankford of Ames, IA; as well as his grandsons and great-grandchildren, who brought him endless joy.
