Carol Jean Webb

Carol Jean Webb, 74, passed away on June 5th, 2025. A celebration of life will take place at the South Hills Golf Course (27th Meeting Room) from 10am-12pm in Waterloo, Iowa, on June 27th.

Carol was born on July 21st, 1950, in Denison, Iowa, daughter of Ralph Marten and Marie Marten. She attended Denison High School and later graduated from the University of Northern Iowa where she studied education. She was employed at several locations as an art teacher, including Zion Lutheran School, Miller Middle School in Marshalltown, Iowa, as well as many substitute teaching locations in Cedar Falls and Waterloo, Iowa. Even in retirement, she continued to pursue her passion teaching art as a substitute teacher. She was a Christian, affiliated with the Prairie Lakes Church.

Carol was always kind and loving to everyone. She loved her family and was a loving mother, who was passionate about teaching and helping young people grow. Carol never swore nor spoke badly about others. She always kept things very clean and organized, loved laughing and was ready to listen to anyone who had a story to share. Carol was a fantastic golfer, always hitting down the middle of the fairway. In addition to golf, she enjoyed drawing and playing scrabble.

Carol is survived by her two sons: Luke Webb and his wife, Angie; and Garett Webb and his fiancé Tori; two granddaughters, Lily and Luna Webb; four sisters: Sharon Benz and her husband Bill, Diane Marten, Mary Thompson, and Joan Birk; and one brother, David Marten and his wife, Renae. She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother Dennis Marten.
