Paul Steven Robertson

Paul Steven Robertson, 80, passed away July 6, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospice. Paul was surrounded by his loving family.

Steve, as family and friends called him, was born at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames, Iowa, on April 16, 1945, to H. Dean and Claire (Gossman) Robertson. He lived on the family farm in Nevada, Iowa, graduated from Nevada High School and studied Animal Science at Iowa State University, where he met and married Jeanne Marie Walton on June 9, 1967. The couple and their new son, Bradley, moved to Marion, Iowa, when Steve became a pharmaceutical sales representative. During those Marion years, four more children were born: Joel, Stephanie, Sarah and Michael. In 1997, the family moved to the Shueyville area.

Steve enjoyed being outside with his children, hunting, fishing and boating, working in his garden and mowing on his John Deere. He had a love of sports, coached several kids and was an invested and caring dad.

Surviving Steve are his wife, Jeanne, children Bradley, Joel (Denise), Stephanie (Stacy Iiams), Sarah (Hurl Beechum), Michael, grandchildren Conner and Hannah, sister Lois Newton, sister-in-law Joan Robertson, many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members and friends. He will be especially missed by Benny, his 13-year-old pup.

He was predeceased by his parents, grandparents James and Mary Robertson and Charles and Bertha Gossman, all of Nebraska, his brothers Bud and Jim, his sister-in-law Pauline and his uncle Jay.

The family is grateful for the medical team at St. Lukes, his healthcare specialists, internist, Wolf Eye, and to the first responders and fire department that service Village on O!
