Dr. A. Clyde Wilson
Dr. A. Clyde Wilson, 78, of Cedar Falls, IA, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born on September 5, 1946, in Portsmouth, Ohio, he was the beloved son of Alva Clifford and Freda Mabel Wilson.
Clyde was a lifelong learner and dedicated professional. He earned his undergraduate degree from Wilmington College before pursuing his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Ohio State University. After completing his studies, he began what would become a long and deeply meaningful career in veterinary medicine.
For many years, Clyde served the community through his work at Vinton Veterinary Clinic in Vinton, Iowa. With calm expertise and a deeply compassionate heart, he cared for generations of animals—both large and small—and built lasting relationships with the people who entrusted him with their beloved companions. Farmers, pet owners, and fellow veterinarians alike knew Clyde for his wisdom and unwavering dedication to his patients.
On December 16, 1972, Clyde was united in marriage to Deanna Quint at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Winthrop, Iowa. Together, they built a life grounded in love, faith, and family. They were blessed with four children: A. Quinton, Zachary, Teylor, and Elliot.
Clyde is survived by his devoted wife of over 50 years, Deanna, and their children: A. Quinton (Kristin) Wilson, Zachary (Cherisse) Wilson, Teylor (Tex) Goates, and Elliot (Lisa Ebbs) Wilson. He was a proud grandfather to fourteen grandchildren: Avery, Keller, Micah, Tanner, Gentry, Shea, Haylee, Eliza, Ezekiel, Maggie, Crosby, Tessa, Erika, and Lily.
He will be remembered for his quiet strength, deep integrity, and unwavering love for his family and community. Clyde’s legacy lives on in the countless lives—human and animal—that he touched with kindness and care.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the phenomenal staff and doctors of the St. Luke’s Older Adult Unit and St. Luke’s Hospice Unit for their extraordinary care, compassion, and support.
A private celebration of Clyde’s life will be held at a future date.
