Kim Marie White
Kim Marie White, 61, of Marion, Iowa passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha. Per Kim’s request there will be no services and cremation rights have been accorded.
Kim was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on March 12, 1963, the daughter of Donald and Carolyn (Nielsen) Fredericksen. In 1981, Kim graduated from Marion High School. She then pursued her education in cosmetology and earned her degree in 1983. Kim owned and operated Schmitty’s Barber Shop in Marion for 41 years. For the last four years she worked at Paul Brauer’s Styling in Marion.
She was united in marriage to David White on March 11, 1989, at St. Wenceslaus Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. To this union, two children were born. Kim was lovingly called Nina by her grandchildren. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Kim’s memory will be cherished by all who knew her, and her legacy of love and devotion will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Kim is survived by her husband, David; two children, Haley and Brandon (Megan); three grandchildren, Bentley Oakley, and Luke; a sister, Jean (Dan) Barnd; and nephews, Jason (Rachel) Barnd and Chad Barnd. She was preceded by her parents, and in-laws, Dave and Shirley White.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
