David Allen Mayo
David Allen Mayo, 49, adored husband, beloved father, proud papa and cherished friend to many, passed away on January 5, 2025. Born on December 15, 1975, at K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base in Michigan, Dave was the son of the late Daniel and Karen Mayo.
Dave was a devoted husband to Stephanie Mayo, with whom he shared a loving marriage since January 4, 2003. Together, they raised five children: David Mayo, Logan (Garet) Miller, Katlyn (Micheal) Holzer, Ashley (Matthew) Keller, and Lily Mayo. He was also the proud grandfather of four: Marcella and Malcolm Holzer, and Savanna and Lainey Keller. Also surviving is a brother, Matthew (Kaylen) Mayo of Clinton, MO, his sisters, Rachel (Jeremy) Mayo-Gregg of Warrensburg, Mo and Jeanie (Michael) McCoy-Seeder of Portland, OR.
Dave served in the United States Army enlisting in 2004. Although his service was cut short due to a severe injury, Dave took pride and felt privileged every day that he served his country. He went on to attend Upper Iowa University. In 2012, he founded Faith and Family Care, dedicated to showing others the love of Jesus and providing care and support to those in need. Using his gifts of compassion and commitment and having the ability to follow through, Dave touched the lives of many families, members, guardians, caregivers, case managers, and staff.
A man of many passions, Dave was an avid outdoorsman. He loved spending time hunting, fishing, and trapping, activities he loved sharing with his family and friends. Dave was a spirited storyteller who loved recounting his many adventures. He was also an ardent entrepreneur, co-founding Top’s Outfitters, a deer mineral and guided hunt company in Kentucky, and later expanding to Hunt CeDeer CAMO.
Dave had a genuine heart to serve. He loved Jesus and wanted everyone to know Him. He was generous and kindhearted. His life was defined by his unwavering faith, selflessness and boundless love for everyone around him. Dave’s legacy of love, service, and devotion will live on through his family, friends, and the many lives he touched with his kindness and generosity.
A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
