Sharon K Weichman

Sharon K. Weichman, 83, of Slater, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at the Madrid Home.

Sharon was born on December 22, 1941, in Rock Rapids, Iowa, to Ben and Christine (Meester) Pierce. She was a devoted mother to her three daughters, Lisa, Denise, and Tammy.

In 1977, Sharon moved to Slater, where she began working at Iowa State University, dedicating several years of service before retiring. She was a member of the Slater United Methodist Church and was once part of the "Red Hat" ladies. Sharon found joy in watching classic sitcoms, Judge Judy, and detective shows, and she was a passionate supporter of Iowa State sports. She had a well-known sweet tooth and could never resist a Nutty Bar, Cosmic Brownie, or anything with "Little Debbie" on the package.

Sharon is survived by her daughter, Tammy (Mike) Walton of Slater; grandsons Derek (Mandy) Foster of Madrid, Danny (Diane) Foster of Norwalk, and Dylan Foster of Slater; eight great-grandchildren; and several other loving family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Christine; sisters, Dixie and Carol; daughters, Lisa and Denise; and grandson, Darrin.

A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at a later date.
