Gerald "Jerry" Chism
Gerald “Jerry” Chism, 85, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2025, at his residence, Grand Living of Indian Creek, Cedar Rapids. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
Survivors include; his wife of 62 years, Lois; sons, Allen Chism and Michael (Shanna) Chism, four grandchildren, Brandon (Brittany), Chayse, Cade, and Colton.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Russ and Evelyn Chism.
Gerald Leroy Chism was born May 20, 1939, in Emmetsburg, Iowa, to parents, Russell and Helen Chism. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1963-65. Jerry worked at a number of different jobs, including highway construction, FMC in Cedar Rapids, and Weyerhaeuser Paper in Cedar Rapids. He was a family man in every sense, he focused his life on his family, enjoying being part of his kids and grandkids activities over his lifetime. Jerry will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
