Scott A. Salter, 59, passed away on December 22, 2025 at his home in Cedar Rapids.
Scott was born on September 7, 1966, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Jean A. (Goody) Salter and Stewart L. Salter Jr. He graduated from John F. Kennedy High School and attended Kirkwood Community College. Scott married Christine Neyens on May 28, 1988, and has two sons. Scott and Christine divorced after 32 years of marriage but remained the best of friends.
Scott worked in automotive parts sales for much of his life and was a car enthusiast. He had an adventurous side to him and loved traveling to exotic locations. Scott also enjoyed music, film, and television. Above all else, Scott loved his family deeply and was a proud father and grandfather.
Scott is survived by his eldest son, Alec Salter, youngest son, Jake Salter, his sister, Renea Salter-Solmonson (Denny), his granddaughter, Aurora Salter, his ex-wife Christine (Neyens) Salter, 7 nieces and nephews, and 7 great-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Jean, father Stewart, and brother, Stewart R. Salter.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Scott on January 24, 2026, details to follow when determined.
