Rodney Corbett Riemenschneider
Rodney Corbett Riemenschneider, 84, of Marion, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home on December 13, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Rod was born on September 4, 1941, in Marshalltown, Iowa, to Harley and Nelle (Corbett) Riemenschneider and grew up in Eldora, Iowa. From an early age, Rod developed a passion for golf, hunting, and fishing—interests that remained with him throughout his life. His talent for golf took him to the University of Iowa, Ellsworth College, and ultimately Florida State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Finance.
After college, Rod proudly served his country as a Captain in the United States Air Force, traveling the world to inspect nuclear warheads during a critical era in history. While stationed at Loring Air Force Base in Maine, Rod met Linda Ann Bishop who would become his wife and lifelong companion. His service reflected his deep sense of duty and commitment to excellence.
Following his military career, Rod returned to Iowa to raise his family and pursue a wide range of professional interests. Over the years, he worked as a real estate broker, car dealer, finance manager, and later as a sales representative for Prudential Insurance. His competitive spirit and work ethic were evident in every endeavor he undertook.
Rod was a man of many passions. He loved spending time outdoors, golfing, hunting, and fishing, and he cherished every moment with his family. He was also an avid reader who never stopped learning and sharing knowledge. Known for his quick wit and humor, Rod was a great joke teller, card player, teacher, and storyteller. His warmth, laughter, and generosity touched everyone who knew him, and he will be remembered for his unwavering love and devotion to those closest to him.
Rod is survived by his children: Bret Riemenschneider (wife Jennifer) and Kelly Carsello (husband Chriss); his ex-wife, longtime companion, and devoted caregiver Linda Riemenschneider; grandchildren: Boe Riemenschneider, Nic Riemenschneider, Sydney Carsello, and Charley Carsello; Brother in Law: Bob Vancura; Nieces and nephews: Jeff Riemenschneider, Tim Vancura, and Heidi Vancura. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harley and Nelle, brother Phil (wife Jolene) Riemenschneider and sister Sara Vancura.
A memorial celebration will take place at a later date; details will be shared when available.
Rod’s legacy of love, laughter, and integrity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
“I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live.” – John 11:25
