Deanna Lee McGrew Thorn
Deanna Lee McGrew Thorn was born in Des Moines, Iowa on April 7,1945 to Raymond and Norma McGrew, and passed from this world on December 9, 2025. She grew up on the east side of Des Moines with four siblings, Sherry, Butch, Kathy and Stephanie. She met and married the love of her life, Dick Lee Thorn, and they were happily married for 50+ years, until Dick's passing.
Deanna was a stay-at-home mom for most of her married life except for a short time at Burlington Coat Factory and Prairie Meadows Casino. She also helped Dick in many of his business adventures. They had four children, Monty, Mark, Darcy and Mitch.
She is survived by two of her children, Mark and Darcy, her sister Sherry, five grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A special thank you to nephew Jason Jones for all his time and work helping Deanna the last few years of her life.
No services are planned at this time. She has been cremated and will be buried next to Dick next Spring.
She was loved and will be missed by all.
