Nancy Kristine Boettcher

Nancy Kristine Boettcher, 67, passed away peacefully on the morning of August 7, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.

Nancy was born May 22, 1958, to Arlene and Everett Boettcher in Storm Lake, Iowa. She graduated from Davenport West High School in 1976 and studied psychology and history at Scott Community College. Nancy was a beautiful soul whose goal was to make everyone around her smile or laugh with her great sense of humor and loving personality. She could talk to anyone as if they were longtime friends, even if she had just met them, and she had a gift for connecting with people in a lasting, meaningful way. She was a talented artist, cook, and Master Gardener. She enjoyed music, cooking new and old recipes, gardening, arts and crafts, summer days outside by the pool or beach, going to concerts, and learning more about her favorite subjects (history, art, and psychology). Nancy loved being with her family, pets, and friends, laughing, reminiscing, and living life to the fullest. She will be missed greatly by everyone who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, which will be communicated to all family and friends accordingly. Nancy is survived by her daughter Sydney (Tyler) Miedema of Walcott; brother Allen (Rachel) Boettcher of Plainfield; nieces Rachel Schroeder of Tampa and Jacey Boettcher of Carpentersville; nephews Jacob (Lindsay) Boettcher of Lake in the Hills, Jake Boettcher of Crystal Lake, Zane (Madison) Boettcher of Crystal Lake, Javen Boettcher of Plainfield, Trae Segers of Plainfield; great-nieces and nephews, Holly, Isabelle, and Crew; many cousins; as well as her fur baby, Bella. She is preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Nancy’s memory to the Muscatine Humane Society (Muscatine, IA), Quad City Animal Welfare Center (Milan, IL), and Darkhorse Lodge (Springville, TN).
