Maria Judy Escobales

With heavy hearts, we mourn the passing of our beloved sister, Maria Judy Escobales, affectionately known as Judy. Born on June 11, 1962, in Queens, New York, Judy was a radiant light in our lives. She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and great-aunt who loved God and her family fiercely.

Growing up in Brooklyn, Judy was the cherished eldest daughter of Maria Dolores Lopez, who continues to inspire us with her strength, and the late Gilberto Escobales. Judy was a loving sister to her four siblings: Nitza Castillo, Monica De La Rosa, Gilberto Escobales, and Angelo Gonzalez. Her bond with her family was deep, meaningful, and a testament to her unwavering devotion.

Judy had a joyous spirit, filling every room with music and laughter. She had a passion for dancing that lit up our hearts, and her infectious smile will forever be missed. A hard worker, she dedicated herself to helping others, always putting the needs of those around her before her own. Whether it was through her volunteer work or simply lending a helping hand, she always embodied kindness.

As a remarkable cook, Judy had a special gift for bringing people together over meals. She loved to prepare food, never thinking twice about feeding anyone who was hungry. Her kitchen was a home filled with warmth and laughter, a place where countless memories were made.

At the age of 16, Judy left home but later returned to Iowa as an adult, longing to be close to her family. She was determined to make up for lost time, creating beautiful new memories with everyone she loved. Her presence brought joy, comfort, and a sense of belonging.

On August 10, 2025, our dear Judy passed away peacefully in her sleep, her heart gently slowing as it came to rest. This untimely loss leaves an insurmountable void in our lives, but we find solace in the love she shared and the memories we hold dear.

Judy's legacy of faith, generosity, and unwavering love will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. She touched our lives in countless ways, and her spirit will forever light our path.

Rest in peace, dear sister. You are loved beyond measure and will be deeply missed.
