Obituary for Carolyn Sue Potter

Carolyn Sue Potter, 70, of Monmouth, Iowa passed away peacefully at Harmony House in Dubuque, Iowa on Saturday, August 2, 2025.

Carolyn Sue Potter was born March 28, 1955, at Jackson County Hospital in Maquoketa Iowa, to Arnold Melvin and Lois Marie (Carr) Potter.  She grew up in Canton and Monmouth and attended the one room schoolhouse in Canton until it closed in 1966.  She graduated from Wyoming High School. Carolyn never married or had any children.  She gave her love to her pets over the years.  She is survived by 3 brothers and one sister: Gerald “Jerry” (Ruth) Potter, Rockford MN, Terry Potter, Baldwin, IA, Randy Potter, St Louis, MO and Michelle (Ed) Zilch, Maquoketa, IA.  She is also survived by nieces Maggie Potter and Nichole Potter and nephews Steven Zilch and Josh Potter. She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Lois (Richard) Hansen, and father Arnold Potter. 
 
A private family service is pending for early September.
