Virginia Mae Dickmann

Virginia Mae Dickmann, 90, of Waterloo, IA, passed away on September 29th, 2024, surrounded by those who loved her most. Per Virginia's request, a private family gathering will be held to celebrate her life.   

Virginia was born on August 11th, 1934, to Lester and Dorothy (Lawless) Ackerman in Waterloo, IA. 

Gin loved books, puzzles, antiquing, spending time outdoors in the sunshine, flowers, and hummingbirds. She also had the best "Gin's Garage Sales". She worked at Waterloo Industries as a welder, and owned and operated "Gin's Pawn & Antiques" for a great number of years. 

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Dorthy Ackerman; her sisters, Kathy and Marlene; her brothers, Don, Jim, Rich, and Wayne; and six of her "four-legged" grandchildren. 

Virginia is survived by her husband of fifty years, Helmut Dickmann; her daughter, Crystal (Andy) Zikuda, her sister Neva, and her brother Paul. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to UnityPoint Hospice.
