Orland Dale Sievert
Orland Dale Sievert, 87, of Lone Tree, IA, passed away on September 25, 2024, at University of Iowa hospital in Iowa City, Iowa, from complications related to Parkinson’s Disease.
Orland was born to Theodore and Anna (Schumck) Sievert on January 16, 1937, in Luverne, Minnesota. Orland graduated from Luverne High School. He married Beverly Christensen. To this union three sons were born. Orland and Beverly later divorced. Orland married Marisue Yates on January 18, 1975.
Orland worked for Tony’s foods and later they purchased a resort on Leech Lake in Minesota where many memories were made. During his semi-retirement years, he drove a tour bus--mostly because he enjoyed meeting new people. He loved wood working and made many items for his family.
Orland is survived by his wife, Marisue, of nearly 50 years; his sons, Perry and Sheryl, of Calmar, Iowa, Troy and Heidi, of Nichols, Iowa, daughter-in-law, Kathy, of Rowlett, Texas; five grandchildren, Bryan and Jamie Sievert of League City, Texas, Kyle and Jessy Sievert, of Gilbert, Arizona, Tyler and Jocelyn Sievert, of Sanger, Texas, Clayton and Sarah Sievert, of Austin, Texas, and Kirsten and Alec Havens, of Suisun City, California; eight great grandchildren, brother Harland, Minneapolis, two brothers-in-law, Joe Yates, Waterloo, Iowa and Terry and Mary Yates, Hampton, Iowa and many nieces and nephews.
Orland was preceded in death by his son Todd on July 10, 2014, his parents, his parents in law, two sisters and three brothers.
A family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
