Mary G. Hale (Jeri) 81 of Bloomfield, Iowa passed away on September 24, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on August 1, 1943 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Carl Vernon & Margaret Ellen Ramsey Snook, known as Boom & Tootsie.
After school Mary worked at Frito Lay in Ottumwa, Iowa & also did a lot of babysitting throughout her teens & early 20's for many nieces, nephews & neighbor kids. She eventually met the love of her life, Carl J. Hale & they were married on February 27, 1965. With that reunion they were blessed with 3 children, Wayne, Margaret & Theresa.
Mary worked beside her husband Carl on the farm for 33 years until his death in December of 1998. She later took a job with Comfort Keepers in Ottumwa, Iowa taking care of the elderly. Everyone loved her for her caring & ornery ways & her kind heart.
After retirement she devoted all of her time to her children, grandchildren & great grandchildren going to every school or sporting event she could get to.
Her memory will live on to all who knew & loved her. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Wayne (Melissa) Hale of Bloomfield, Iowa, Margaret (Rick) Metcalf of Selma, Iowa & Theresa (James) White of Selma, Iowa. 17 grandchildren, Ashley, Aaron, Caleb, Kristi, James, Mercedes, Adam, Erin, Abbye, Calvin, Allison, Dakota, Archer, Addison, Gillian, Ian & Nathan. 24 great grandchildren, Addison, Brock, Cameron, Drew, Aydon, Raiyna, Cyler, Kayson, Maverick, Jentry, Myah, Emma, Owen, William, Kayley, Adalyn, Kendal, Vivian, Opal, Aubrey, Taylor, Bentley, Brantley & Carl. A brother Hank (Rita) Snook of LeClaire, Iowa A sister Molly (Jim) Richards of Ottumwa, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carl, her parents, 2 brothers, Joe Snook & William Snook, 3 Sisters, Margie Tray, Carol Jones & Paula Widmar, a granddaughter Mariah Marshall & a good friend William (Bill) Rupe.
As were Mary's wishes her body has been cremated & a celebration of life will be at a later date.
