Leon Kroemer
Leon Kroemer, Mr. Wonderful, now stands in wonder and peace in the fullness of His Savior. Leon died on Monday, September 16, 2024, at the Mercy Hospice House at the age of 81.
Leon was born in Lowden, Iowa. He attended UNI where he met and charmed his wife of 60 years, Karen.
He worked for many years for AT&T and Northwestern Bell. He then became youth director and pastoral assistant at Trinity Lutheran Church and School, Cedar Rapids.
Leon touched many lives by sharing his faith. He has continued a prison ministry program for many years, first visiting, then corresponding with inmates in many states, constantly reminding them that God loves them.
Leon is survived by Karen, their two children, Jeff and Jodi (Kirk) Jonasson, his very cherished grandchildren, Hannah (Keith Ward), Luke (Macy Anderson), and Joseph (Renae) Jonasson and Grace Kroemer who brought such joy to his life.
A family service will be held later. Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran School Athletics or Trinity Lutheran Church Youth program.
