Jacqueline Marie Rhinehart

Jacqueline Marie Rhinehart,77, of Blairstown, passed away at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids on September 30, 2024 after a short two week battle with an aggressive cancer.  Services will be at Grace Lutheran Church on Saturday, October 5, at 10:30am with Pastor Jeffrey Schanbacher officiating.  Visitation will be one hour before the service with a light luncheon to follow.

Jacqueline was born on February 21, 1947, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of L. Lee Bendull and Marie (Pippert) Bendull.  She spent the first two years of her life in California where her dad worked for Pan American Airways.  In 1949, her family returned to Vinton, Iowa.  She attended the Vinton Schools where she enjoyed playing snare drum in the band. She graduated from Washington High School in 1966. 

Jacqueline married Edward John Rhinehart on June 2,1968 in Vinton, IA at the Presbyterian Church. She and Ed owned and operated a Dairy farm north of Blairstown until 1987 and then they moved into town. Jacqueline spent the next 20 years providing in-home daycare for over 100 children and being their second mom.  She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Blairstown where she was also a member of their Ladies Aid and Philia Club.  Jacque worked hard over the years to manage her diabetes and keep an immaculate house. 

Jacqueline is survived by her husband of 56 years, Edward: three children, Natalie (Dale) Dommer of Deer Park , TX,  Brent (Ashley) Rhinehart of Corydon, IN, and Maria (Jeremy) Shady of Mt. Vernon; 10 Grandchildren, Samantha, Leslie (Matt Fields), and  Simon Saunders,  Kelsey (Zach) Morgan, Max, Ian, and Jake Shady, Bryce, Claudia, and  Perry Rhinehart; and her four Great Grandchildren: Kendra, Camden, Ryker, and Ellie.  Jacqueline is survived by her siblings: Lee (Jorgie) Bendull, Kay Mussman (Larry Ritland), Gail (David) Beecher. She was proceeded in death by her parents and brother-in-law Tom Mussman. 

In lieu flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church .
