Albert E. Chidester, Sr.
Albert E. Chidester Sr, 95, of Cedar Falls, IA passed away on Sunday, September 15th, 2024.
He was born in Albia, Iowa to Lawrence and Ivaloo (Gatchell) Chidester. He was drafted in the Army and served his country during the Korean War. Albert married Ida Joy in 1950. They later divorced. They had six children. He married Vi Mahlstedt in 1968. They had a son and later divorced. He worked at Rath Packing Co for thirty-eight years. After that, he worked as a maintenance man until retirement. Albert married Patricia "Pat" Troug in 1975. They were united for forty-four years before she passed away in 2019. Albert was an avid fisherman, enjoyed the outdoors, and spent a lot of time tinkering in his shop.
He is survived by his children; Albert Jr, Steve (Cindy), Vickie, Greg (Dorothy), Joy (Ron), Dawn, and Bruce; his stepchildren, Lynn, Theresa, Nick, Don, and Annette; sixteen grandchildren, and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
Albert was preceded in death by his wife, parents, grandson Albert III, six brothers, and two sisters.
A graveside service for family will be held at a later date.
