Eunice Rae Currier

Eunice was my babysitter as a child. I fondly remember watching The Price is Right with her in the mornings, playing on the swing-set in the front yard, rocking with her on her recliner chair, her and Delmer taking my siblings and I to the cafe Monroe used to to have for morning coffee, and I still think of her when I have no-bake cookies in a tin in my fridge. We lost touch as I grew up and no longer needed a sitter. I did visit her once as an adult, my dad and I knocked on their door, Delmer had answered and let us come in and chat for awhile, he had told us about his health and informed us that Eunice had dementia. I don't remember her saying much, but I was filled with so much joy and nostalgia just to be in their home and presence again after so many years. My only grandparent as a child lived in another state, so I really did see them as the closest thing I had to grandparents. My thoughts go out to the family of Delmer and Eunice, they were both such wonderful people. Michelle
