Joyce L. Haferbier, Age 73, of Oxford Junction, IA passed away at the Mercy One Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, IA, on Monday, May 20, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Joyce was born on November 29, 1950, in Jersey City, New Jersey. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Hope Evelyn (LeSan) Depfer. On January 4, 1994, Joyce married Gary Haferbier. Joyce loved to help people, she started the Food Pantry in Oxford Junction, as well as being a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Oxford Junction. Joyce enjoyed doing cross-stitching as well.
Those left to cherish Joyce’s memory are her children, Carolyn Depfer, Charles Stewart, and Christopher Haferbier, all of Oxford Junction; her grandchildren, Caitlin and Kelli Depfer, also of Oxford Junction; multiple step-children and great-step grandchildren survive her as well. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her sister, Lorraine.
