Matthew Justin Mozingo
Matthew Mozingo, age 51, passed away March 31, 2024, from a brief battle with cancer at his home surrounded by his family.
Matt was born September 28, 1972, in Mayville, Missouri, the son of Ernie Mozingo and Sue Mozingo. He grew up in Bagley and Riverton, Iowa. Matt graduated from Farragut High School in Farragut, Iowa, the class of 1992. After graduation he moved to Bagley, Iowa where he lived until his death.
He was an employee of IBP which later became Tyson in Perry for 32 years.
Matt spent his free time riding four-wheeler, camping, and spending time with his family. He was a diehard Kansas City Chiefs and Royals fan. Everyone who knew him, knew him best as “Uncle Matt.”
Matt was preceded in death by his father, Ernie; brother, Mike; nephew, Justin; grandparents, George and Edna Mae Vaux; grandfather, Ernie Mozingo; and grandparents Bill and Mary Sturm.
Matt leaves behind his mother, Sue (Moe); brother, Mark (Dawn); nephews, Jamey (Becky), Jason (Clista); and niece, Morgan (Cole); 3 great nephews; 3 great nieces; and lifelong best friend, Jeff (Anna) Whitcomb.
There will be a burial and celebration of life at a later date.
