Dorothy Ann Fletcher
Dorothy Ann (Kryger) Fletcher 82, of Waltonville passed away peacefully at Countryside Manor in Mt Vernon, IL at 7:20 a.m. on June 26, 2024.
She was born June 28, 1941 to Andrew and Martha Kryger in Ashley, IL.
She is survived by a sister Rose Bochantin of Sesser, Brother-in-law Daniel Bochantin of Scheller, nieces Donnette(Paul) Neuhaus Morton, IL, Jane (Billy) Farr, Alabama, Annette(Bruce) Pytlinski of Waltonville, great nieces Claire(DaCota) Bauer, Grace(Cory) Mosbacher, Great nephews Nick(Julia) Neuhaus, Matt Neuhaus, and Charley Hoehaver. Great-great niece Magdalena Bauer, Sloane Neuhaus and Great-great nephew Andrew Bauer.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Mary Jane Kujawa and great-great nephew Luke Thomas Bauer.
She spent the majority of her life in Arizona and Colorado feeding her taste for adventure. She got her degree later in life to become an operating room technician from 1883-retirement. She bred and showed airedales, loved to ski, hike the desert, go rock hounding, do lapidary work with her rock hounding finds. True to her Polish roots, she enjoyed polka dancingevents and met a great deal of friends along the way, many called her Polka Dottie.
She lived in Maine for awhile, where she enjoyed the coast, lighthouses and a fresh haddock dinner with an ocean view.
She was a woman of faith and a parishioner at St Mary’s in Mt Vernon, IL.
At Dorothy’s request, there will be no public service.
