Mary Ann Broghammer

Dear Josh, Anne, John, and Annette, I well recall knowing Mary Ann in the 1970's. Our husbands were in each other's weddings and Mary Ann, in her true get it done fashion, even made sure there was champagne at my wedding reception. I recall the two of us playing bridge well into the night. One time, Mary Ann was rolling meatballs at the same time, in prep for a New Year's Eve party the next night. She and your dad threw some good parties! I recall knowing her when they lived in central Iowa, worked at John Deere, and Josh was born. Talk about doing laundry! Sometimes we went to movies together, after which we would eat Chinese and discuss the movie and our respective lives and politics. Please accept my sympathy on her passing. She was quite a woman and I am glad I got to know her. Sincerely, Laura Engler

This came as such a shock. We have been neighbors and friends for many years. She shared her gardening expertise with me and I tried to help her when I could. She liked to sit and visit in my quiet back yard under the pergola. I will miss her.
