John “Brad” Bradford Dirks, 85, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on July 8, 2024.
A memorial ceremony will be held at the 1st Congregational United Church of Christ in Anamosa on August 2, 2024, at 11:00 AM. A Private Inurnment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Monticello, Iowa.
Brad Dirks was born on September 9, 1938, to LeRoy and Maurine (Stingley) Dirks in Monticello Iowa. He was united in marriage to Lynda Lou Folkers on June 6, 1959. They recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
Brad served in the Strategic Air Command of the United States Air Force and graduated from Iowa State University in 1963. Brad had a diverse, lifelong career in agri-business.
Brad is survived by his wife, Lynda “Folkers” Dirks, Daughters, Shawn Walker and Heidi (Joe) Puccinelli; son, Charles (Mary) Dirks; 6 Grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and his brother William (Linden) Dirks, Cape Coral, Florida.
Brad was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Kermit Dirks and Keith Dirks.
