Everett “Lucky” “Buck” Kramer, 80 years old, of Evansdale, IA, formerly of Holiday Lake, Brooklyn, IA, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospital surrounded by his wife Zelda and daughter Samantha.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 4031 Lafayette Rd, Evansdale, IA. A Celebration of Life will follow from 1:00 – 5:00 pm at the Evansdale Amvets, 706 Colleen Ave, Evansdale, IA.
Everett was born on July 25, 1943, in Waterloo, IA, to Juanita Morgan and Paul Kramer. He married Zelda Riechmann on September 7, 1965. From this union, they were blessed with two children, Samantha and Ross. For their 40th wedding anniversary, Everett thoughtfully surprised Zelda by renewing their wedding vows with their children, grandchildren, family members, and close friends witnessing the event.
Everett held several jobs throughout his life including Volunteer Black Hawk County Deputy Sheriff, Pepsi Bottling Company, various truck driving positions, Waterloo Industries in the paint department and as a CAD Engineer, and Walmart in the electronics and clearance department. He also worked in factories but did not enjoy being confined indoors.
Everett enjoyed spending time with his family, dressing up as Santa to help children with their wish lists, and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes play. His favorite hobby was writing short stories and posting them on the Booksie website, where he garnered over 11,000 followers worldwide. He also started Elk Digital Solutions, converting people’s pictures and home VCR movies to CDs, and he designed computer layouts for Kent Chapel Church in Brooklyn, IA.
Everett is survived by his wife Zelda of 58 years, Evansdale, IA; daughter Samantha (Brad) Aukes, Wellsburg, IA; son Ross (Jannareth) Kramer, Davenport, FL; grandchildren Lexy (Adam) Brown, Onawa, IA, Austin Aukes (Taylor Ingram), Wellsburg, IA, Nickalaus Kramer, Isabella Kramer, Valentina Kramer, Davenport, FL; great-grandchildren Ellie Kaye and Payton Brown, Onawa, IA; siblings Tamara (Craig) DeMaris, Waterloo, IA, Marabelle Morgan, Minneapolis, MN, Greg (Debbie) Kramer, Waterloo, IA, Timothy (Angie) Morgan, Shepherdsville, KY; brother-in-law Craig Riechmann, Independence, IA; sisters-in-law Jean (Rick) Day and Suzette Jacoby, Waterloo, IA; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother Juanita Morgan, father Paul Kramer, sisters Pamela Andrews, Sandy Cline, JoAnn Grant and brother Jackie Morgan; mother-in-law Violena Riechmann; father-in-law Werner Riechmann; brother-in-law Calvin Riechmann and sister-in-law Jeanie Riechmann.
