Dennis Shakespeare, 69, of Shellsburg, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024, in Hiawatha surrounded by his loving family. A celebration of life will be held later this year.
He was born on November 18, 1954, in Cedar Rapids, to George and Mary (Comp) Shakespeare. Dennis was a 3rd generation member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 125, where he passionately served as a union officer, instructor, and JATC member to help promote the trade. He loved hunting, water skiing, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Dennis is survived by his mother; wife Dawn Petersen; children, Christopher (Mandy) Shakespeare and Nikki (Cory Damme) Shakespeare; grandchildren, Dominik (Kalina) Shakespeare and Trai (Angela) Shakespeare; siblings, Dawn (Larry) Bender, Dorothy Workman, Debra (Tracy) Langguth, and Donna (Larry) Frantz; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded into death by his father and sister, Diane Voss.
