Becky Ellen Rengstorf

Becky Ellen Rengstorf 76 of Britt, Iowa passed away July 26th, 2024. Becky was born in Eagle Grove Iowa January 20th, 1948, to Mardell and Janie Rengstorf. The family later moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where Becky would grow up, attend school, and meet her future husband. On September 24th, 1967, Beck united in marriage to Richard “Dick” Witham in Colorado Springs, Colorado. After getting married the couple moved to Iowa and had four children Kenny, Scott, Clint, and Cristi. They later divorced after 32 years of marriage. Becky was a stay-at-home mom while her children were growing up. After her children left home, she worked as a cook at the Good Samaritan in Algona and then retired from the Britt Hospital. Becky loved to play video games with her grandchildren, especially Lara Croft Tomb Raider. She loved anything that had to do with Egypt, including getting tattoos. She was immensely proud of her tattoos, and they were always the topic of conversations. She was able to visit Egypt with her son Scott in September 2017. She was also an advocate for animals. She could not stand to see anything suffer, she spent her own time and money to save animals from freezing to death, or starving. The countless hours and selflessness she put into animals that needed human interaction are the reasons that make her so special. That true genuine compassion that you just understood.

Becky is survived by son Kenny Witham (fiancée Deb Guerdet) of Bancroft, Iowa; son Scott (Jenny) Witham of Manson, Iowa; son Clint (Jennifer) Witham of Wesley, Iowa; daughter Cristi (Dan) Anderson of Bettendorf, Iowa; nine grandchildren; (Matthew, Austin, Tayler, Caleb, Dakota, Alexus, Bryce, Kobe, Drake) six great-grandchildren (Mitchell, Callan, Connor, Brayden, Chloe, and Ryder) Plus two more due next year! sister Cindy Massey of Algona, Iowa; sister Kelly (Joe) Murray of Arizona and their daughters Kailey and Halle Murray. Becky was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved dogs Blue and Riley.

The family will be having a Celebration of Life Service on August 23rd, 2024.
