Tedi Gail Fredericks

Tedi Gail (Smith) Fredericks, Age 97, passed away at the Care Initiatives in Cedar Rapids, on Sunday, January 7, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Tedi was born on January 6, 1927, in Clear Lake, IA. She was the daughter of the late Elmer, who was a farmer and Lillian Smith, who was a teacher. On October 15, 1949, Tedi married the love of her life Roy Charles Fredericks. In Hampton, IA. Tedi enjoyed interior decorating, gardening, cooking, especially milling her own flour for her homemade bread. She loved nature and going on hikes. She was an active member of the 7th Day Adventist church where she served as the head deaconess and made many friends and was such a blessing to the older members by providing them a tape library of the services that would go to shut-in members.

Those left to cherish Tedi’s memory are her children, Jeff Fredericks of Cedar Rapids, Randy (Lupe Escobar) Fredericks, of Estes, Park, CO, Diane Perske, of Cedar Rapids, and Greg (Daria T. Shahriari) Fredericks of Waterloo, IA; her grandchildren, Melissa, Andrew, Nathaniel, Jacob, and Michael; her great-grandchildren, Destiny, Cheyenne, Nate, Skylar, Aurora, and Nicholas; her brother, Jerry (Shirley) Smith of Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her daughter, Karen, son Ron (Kathy) Fredericks, her granddaughters, Shannon, Debbie, Sara, and her brother, Bob Smith.

She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Ron.
