James Tanury
James Tanury, 77, of Toddville, passed away Friday, January 12, 2024, at home surrounded by family. No services are planned at this time.
James Michael Tanury was born October 12, 1946 to Assad Tanury and Shirley McKay Tanury in San Francisco, California. James was stationed at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia, while serving in the Army from 1966-1968. He graduated from Syracuse University in Utica, New York. Following his graduation, he worked at General Electric. in Utica, New York. Afterwards he was employed at Lockheed Martin in Syracuse, New York. James relocated to Cedar Rapids, Iowa and began working for Rockwell Collins. James enjoyed everything outdoor related such as chopping wood, fishing, hunting, and tending to his garden. He liked alpine skiing and riding his motorcycle. James loved doing repair work; especially mechanical in nature.
James is survived by his wife of 25 years, Maureen; daughter, Kari; son, James; step-daughters, Jana and Kara Bishop; granddaughter, K’La; grandsons, Holden & Beckett; two great grandchildren; sisters, Sandra Lane (Jerry) and Karin Meola (Gary); brothers, Craig Viau and Bill Plage; several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Assad and Mary Tanury and Shirley and Al Arlotto
