Franklin Edward Bickford

Franklin Edward Bickford, 68 of Maquoketa, IA, passed away on Friday, January 5th, at the Iowa City Hospital.

Frank was born in Maquoketa, Iowa and lived most of his adult life in Monticello, Iowa. He was a welder for NCI out of Monticello, where he retired after 30 years. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, growing vegetables in his garden, feeding the birds, and playing his harmonicas with his grandchildren. Frank was a lover of music and was often referred to as an “Old Hippie.” 

He will be greatly missed by his three children, Michelle (Jim) Curran of South Carolina, Kristina (DeAndre) Murphy of Guttenberg, and Joshua (Danielle) Bickford of Maquoketa; and his 16 grandchildren. 

There will be a celebration of life hosted by his children at a later date.
