Joanne “Jojo” G. Wohlgemuth, Age 58, of Cedar Rapids, IA, passed away at the Living Center West Nursing Home on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, with Diane by her side.
Per Jojo’s request, there are to be no services at this time.
Jojo was born on August 20, 1965, in Hanau, West Germany. She was the daughter of the late Elke Wohlgemuth. She enjoyed crocheting, doing jigsaw puzzles, watching crime shows, playing her coloring games on her phone, and reminiscing about her 1967 Mercury. Jojo loved her coffee and her cigarettes. Her greatest joy was her friendship she had with her daughter, Brittany.
Those left to cherish Jojo’s memory are her children, Chris Burgin, Adam Walderbach, Brittany Walderbach, Allie Walderbach, and Cassie Walderbach, all of Cedar Rapids, IA; her grandchildren, Will Burgin, Evie Walderbach, Micah Williams, and the late Lilia Gilson; her sister, Diane Acker of Hiawatha, and her brother, Gene (Desziree) Merrifield, of Michigan. She was preceded in death by her mother, the love of her life, Don Walderbach, and her father, Ray Merrifield.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Living Center West and St. Luke’s hospice for all the love and support they showed Jojo while she was in their care.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Go Fund ME Account or to the Willis Dady Shelter.
