Gerald “Jerry” D. Anderson, age 86, of Cedar Rapids, IA, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
Jerry was born July 11, 1937, in Decorah, IA, the son of Clifford and Lucille (Johnson) Anderson. He worked for Options for over 25 years and spent many years at Milestones. Jerry enjoyed life and all it had to offer. He loved bowling, Yahtzee and playing cards. Country music was his favorite, and he would sing along with bands at jam sessions. In his younger days Jerry would get up and dance any chance he could.
Survivors include his nieces, Mary (Dave) Viktora and Shari (Wesley) Houser; nephews, Ricky (Vicki) Anderson, Scott (Tina) Anderson and Douglas Anderson; great nieces and nephews, Chad Victor, Adam, Kyle, Dean, Dodi, Bridgette, Ben, Brian and Brandon. Nancy Ryan his fiancé. Jerry had many more nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, John A. and Martha Johnson, sister, Carole (Ron) Krambeer; brothers, Dave (Dorothy) Anderson and Jim (Donna) Anderson; nephew, Jason Lee Anderson; niece Kathy Sproston, great-great-nieces, Adrienna, Damani and great niece Melinda and many other family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Jerry at a later date.
