Claude E. Wallace

Claude E. Wallace, 93, of Dubuque, IA passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Stonehill Care Center in Dubuque, IA.

He was born November 28, 1930 in Farley, IA the son of Edward and Inez (Hook) Wallace. Claude served our country in the United States Army from November of 1951 to January of 1954.  He was a corporal in the Tank Battalion Company A 4th Platoon in the Korean War. Claude got to travel on the Honor Flight to Washington, DC in 2012. On May 22, 1954, Claude married Janann Kiernan at Sacred Heart Church in Dubuque, IA.  Sadly, Janann proceeded him in death on December 4, 2023. He started working at the Dubuque Packing Company in 1959 and then FDL Foods in 1993.

Claude enjoyed photography and bowling for many years and was a member of the 700 Club.  He liked riding his bicycle for can recycling and did that well into his late 80’s.  Claude recorded countless movies for others to enjoy, and was an avid Star Trek Fan.

Claude is survived by his children, Cindy ( Donny) Tschiggfrie of Dubuque, IA, Patti (Doug) Kelly of Cedar Rapids, IA and Tom (Julie) Wallace of Marion, IA.  His grandchildren, Sarah (Brett) Fisher of Crystal Lake, IL, Joshua (Christopher Dahlstrand) Tschiggfrie of Orlando, FL, Justin Wallace of Dubuque, IA, Amanda (Tyler) Shadle of Marion, IA, Cody Wallace of Dubuque, IA, Patrick, Katie and Timothy Kelly all of Cedar Rapids, IA. His great-grandchildren, Charlie, Kaydence, Annalee, Beckett, Kennedy and Tenley and his sister-in-law Barb Kiernan of Edgewater, FL. Claude is also proceeded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, Ray and Susie Kiernan; brothers-in-law, James and Carl Kiernan; grandson, Cory Wallace; step-father, Dan Clymer and stepbrother, Sam Clymer.  

Per Claude’s wishes there will not be any services.  The family would like to thank the staff at Stonehill Care Center and Hospice of Dubuque for their care and compassion of Claude.
