William "Willie" Franklin Myers
William “Willie” Franklin Myers, 52, of Marengo, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 from injuries sustained from a motor vehicle accident. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Marengo Legion Hall Post 76, 1669 Court Avenue, Marengo, Iowa on December 27, 2024 from 4 pm to 8 pm.
Willie was born on June 7, 1972 to Roger and Frankie (Whittenburg) Myers in Martinsburg, West Virginia. He resided in Iowa with cousins Sherry Steinkuehler, Calista Trimble, Wanda and Roy Stanley, Sandy and Brian VanHeiden. Along with Aunt Charlotte and Uncle LaVerne Schutterle and cousins Scott, Brittney, Stephenie, Kevin, Jeaniejo, Dan, Makayla, Jarrett, Autumn, Dillon, Kelsea, Andrew and Dean.
Willie was employed at Victor Manufacturing, formally employed by Quantum Plastics. Willie’s hobbies were playing pool, playing cornhole and driving the ranger. He loved his tunes and sitting around a good fire. He especially loved hanging out with his coop family. His famous words were “Ta Da” and “Quick fast in a hurry.” Calling someone a “sissy baby” was the highlight of his night.
Willie had a contagious smile, an infectious laugh and a heart of gold. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his sisters, Karen (Rob) Wetzel of West Virginia and Leslie (John) Derby of North Carolina; Uncle Edward (Shirley) Myers, Aunt Lorraine Cole, Uncle Lyle Myers all of West Virginia. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
William was preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Frankie Myers; his brother, Roger Lee Myers; his sister, Melissa Myers; and his grandparents Harry and Mabel Myers.
Memorial donations may be directed to the family.
