Harold Ray Connolly
Harold Ray Connolly was born on July 29, 1943, in Clay Center, Nebraska to Harold W. and Ardyth E Connolly. He died on December 27, 2024, at Harmony Waterloo, in Waterloo, Iowa.
He married Treva Friesen, with whom he parented daughter Carrie Rae Connolly Landis. They were later divorced. He had multiple advanced degrees from Nebraska Wesleyan University, and the University of Nebraska. He was the Director of Special Education at Green Valley Area Education Agency 14 in southwest Iowa, and later served as the Central Point of Coordination Administrator for Tama County. He was a long-time advocate for children and adults with disabilities. The guiding principle of his life was "If you're not making a difference, you're just taking up space." He was a gifted musician, and sang and played guitar in bands for over 60 years. Besides music, his loves included his daughter and her family, his pets, and Sheryl.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and several cousins, and a host of well-loved cats and dogs.
He is survived by daughter Carrie, her husband Keith, and grandchildren Zachary, Max, and Olivia, of Coral Springs, FL, loving companion Sheryl McGovern, and by a number of cousins and countless friends.
