Lois Gail Bjornsen
Forest City – Lois Gail Bjornsen, age 90, of Forest City, died Friday, August 23, 2024, at The Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Forest City.
Lois was born May 10, 1934, in Radcliffe, Iowa, to Mandius and Austina (Tungesvik) Johnson. She graduated from Thompson High School in 1952.
On July 4, 1952, she married Kjell Svendly Bjornsen in Guckeen, Minnesota. To this marriage, three daughters were born. Lois was best known for her baking skills, her love for reading, her ability to find a good deal while shopping, and her tenure at Forest City Bank and Trust where she worked for 33 years prior to retiring in 1996.
Lois is survived by three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Dorothy (Ralph) Zenker, Sharon (Freeman) Fox, and Linda Brandau, her three daughters: Susan Meinecke of Forest City, Julie (Joe) Pille of West Des Moines, and Connie (Roger) Kofron of Leland, 10 grandchildren: Amy Meinecke, Molly (Tyler) Lamoreux, Kjellsi Meinecke, Katie (Jason) Buckner, Meg Pille, Jennifer (Noel) Espejo Vargas, Tessa Wubben, Brodie (Steph) Wubben, Scot (Steph) Kofron, Stephanie (Johnny) Smith, 22 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 Great-Great-Grandchild.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kjell, brother Ronald Johnson, sisters and brothers-in-law Marcella (Ray) Hauan and Joan (Edwin) Jacobson, brother-in-law Harlan Brandau, sisters-in-law and spouses Lillain (Kermit) Alne, Solveig (Cliff) Lee, Ruth (Art) Levang, and Lavonne (Kenny Thomas and Hank) Pannkuk.
Celebration of Life will be September 19th, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church of Joice, Ia. Burial will be at Bethel Lutheran Cemetery.
