David Andrew Rohner, 83, of Garnavillo, died on Sunday, September 24, 2023. Private graveside services will be held on October 7.
His family includes his wife of 52 years, Patricia (Brown); 4 daughters, Debra (James) Heick of Calmar; Brenda (Mike Schuster) Nugent, Prairie du Chien, WI; Laurie Fangmann, Garnavillo; June (Tom) Berns, Elkader. He has 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, a sister, Dorothy Wendel, of Garnavillo and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Irene (Miller) Rohner, sisters and brothers-in-law Marcella (Dick) Dodge, Marie (Herman) Benskin, Betty (Bernie) Tapke, a brother, Donald (Janice) Rohner, brother-in-law Keith Wendel, son-in-law Rick Nugent and son-in-law Jeff Fangmann.
David was born May 13,1940 in Garnavillo, where he also graduated high school. He joined the Army National Guard and then went on to farm for many years. David also ran a small engine repair in Garnavillo until his retirement.
After retirement, he enjoyed just doing tasks around the house, being on his computer, gardening and seeing his family. He will be greatly missed.
