Albert Scott Hammond
Albert Scott Hammond, 83 of Atkins Iowa, formerly of Cedar Rapids IA, became a silent key KØHWE on September 12th, 2023.
Al had many interests and pursuits during his lifetime. He had three wishes. Number one was amateur radio. Second, getting the job at Collins Radio after High School. He continued to go back to see if they had openings, and eventually he succeeded. He worked at Collins for thirty-seven and a half years until he retired. His last wish was getting married and starting a family. He was helpful to all who knew him.
Preceded in his death are his parents, Christian Albert Hammond and Maurine Elizabeth (Summers) Hammond.
Al is survived by his wife, Agnes M (Fisher) Hammond, of 61 years; his daughter Teresa; son Charles (Traci) Hammond; grandson CJ Hammond; two brothers and a sister.
Per his wishes, there will be no funeral or visitation services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Mercy or the family.
