JoAnne M. Fobian

JoAnne M. Fobian, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 15, 2023.

JoAnne spent her early life in Conroy, IA, the daughter of Bill and Anna and older sister to Larry.

A wonderful mother and grandmother, JoAnne was also a diverse and ambitious professional. She worked as a buyer at Mercy Hospital and in the insurance department at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She was also one of the founders of Fobian Farms, Inc., and served as its Vice President until her passing.

JoAnne will be forever cherished by her children: Craig Fobian, Cindy Fobian (Lee) Willham, Vicki Fobian, Kathy Fobian (friend Don) and Valerie Fobian (Mark) Finarty.  She taught her children how to show true love through her support, home cooked meals, making each holiday special and providing a strong spiritual foundation for her family.

In addition to her children, JoAnne is loved and adored by her four grandchildren: Aaron Fobian, Oliver Nash Willham, Brooklyn Finarty and Kolton Finarty as well as family friend Nelson.

A woman before her time, JoAnne was independent, driven and loved life. She did her best to pass these characteristics on to her children and grandchildren. Those who were blessed to know her will miss her energy, her light and her joyous sense of humor.

A Celebration of Life in honor of JoAnne will take place at a later date.

Our sincere appreciation and respect to the angels at Grand Living at Bridgewater and Briarwood Health Care Center for their kindness and care. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in honor of JoAnne be sent to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Iowa City.
