Linda Miller
Linda Miller, 73, On November 2nd we lost our beautiful, complicated, free spirited, frustrating, nature loving, outgoing, light stick twirling, life of the party, (you won't believe what she just did), Mother and Grandmother, Linda Miller.
We loved Linda with all of our hearts even if, at times, she would make us shake and/or scratch our heads. She was always there with “You know what would be fun?” or “Quick come out here and look at..” and she would have some sort of plant, animal, insect, rock or aerial phenomena we just had to see. She loved her plants (some from the 1970’s) attending raves, and spinning her light sticks.
Linda trained as a Tool and Die Worker. After earning a BA from Mount Mercy, she worked at Collins 27 years, and retired in 2013. She was a member of the Master Gardener Program, Eastern Iowa Bonsai Association and Landlords of Linn County.
On Wednesday she developed an infection, which proved too much with complications from Aplastic Anemia. She passed with her daughters holding her hands, surrounded by friends and positive energy.
Linda is survived by her two daughters Rainey Miller (James Osvald) and Cara Payne (Jerimiah Kenny) and 3 grandchildren Colton Payne, Charlie and Briar Kenny. She is also remembered by her life long friend Richard Smith (Jim Parton)
In true Linda fashion she has asked for no funeral or gathering. She wants everyone to think of her on a warm sunny day or a time you are out having fun. However, Rainey and Cara will be at Lowe Park Saturday, November 18th 5-8pm, if anyone wants to stop by to talk with them, or each other. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Linn County Humane Society.
