Lewis Eugene “Gene” Anderson II (June 25,1944 – November 5, 2023)
Lewis Eugene Anderson, 79, of Washington, Iowa passed on November 5, 2023, in his childhood home with family present.
He was born in Washington, IA to Lewis Eugene Anderson I and Marion Adair Powers. Gene attended Washington high school.
He married Nancy LaVon Connolly on April 23, 1965, in Kalamazoo, MI. He worked various jobs throughout his life that included 18 years at Heinz in Muscatine. He enjoyed deer hunting, flea markets, Nascar racing, and raising miniature Dobermans. He attended the First Assembly of God church for many years.
He is survived by his 3 children, Lewis Eugene Anderson III, Charles Shane Anderson (Teresa), and Lowell Danyell Anderson (Bridget). Other survivors include his sister Beverly Anderson (Ft. Worth, TX), brother Jon Anderson (Ft Worth, TX), and 5 grandchildren (Kyle, Hannah, Cole, Evan, and Zoey).
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
A private family gathering will be held November 10th. Memorial gifts may be sent to Hospice of Washington County.
