Darold C. Lamphier, 72, of Cedar Rapids, IA, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 11, 2023, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2204 26th St. NW, Cedar Rapids.  Inurnment will be held in Postville, IA, at a later date.

Darold was born on August 5, 1951, in Waterloo, IA, the son of Clayton and Orpha (Christopher) Lamphier. He graduated from West High School in Waterloo, with the Class of 1969. Darold met his second wife while working at the Postville Locker. Darold and Anna Martins were married on May 7, 1972, in Waukon, Iowa. They moved to Cedar Rapids in the spring of 1988. It has been their home since then.

He is survived by his wife, Anna, daughters, Tammy (Mark) Iezek and Wendy Enlow, both of Cedar Rapids, IA; Leah Lamphier of Mesa, AZ; four granddaughters, Whitney, Nichole, Alyssa and Hayley; three great grandsons, RJ, Casper and Portland;  sister-in-law, Mary Russett of New Hampton and Norma (Daryl) Sander of Postville and many special nieces and nephews, including special niece, Laura Jorgensen; also surviving are lifelong friends, David & Linda Coan and their families of Waterloo, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law, two brothers, Veryl & Dale (wife Kay), two sisters, Nina and Reita, sister-in-law Lucy and two brother-in-laws, Carlton and Roger, and many beloved pets, Maxwell, Phancee, Bitsee and Grayson.

He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses November 4, 1989. He has faithfully been serving his creator Jehovah and spreading the good news of God’s Kingdom to come.

The family would like to especially thank so many involved in the care of Darold starting with the physicians and staff at UIHC, also the nurses and staff of Essence of Life Hospice of Amana.
