Lyonel M. Watkins

just finished watching the service /thank you for doing this / we so enjoyed fellowship with your dad and mom in the ministry. we had meetings with lyonel several times/ and visited them in iowa. always remember the joke about the guy going to jump from a 40 ft building and at the 20th floor so far so good. when we were at morris and your parents were in sheldon ,iowa/ your mom worked at a bakery and we had a cafe in town which had huge and i mean huge rolls .so i got some for them and took breakfast to their room and the heard the giggles about the size of the rolls/took some back to sheldon to show the bakery what they do it other places. we laughed many times over this. God Bless each of you!!!!

I was so sad to just run across the obituary for Pastor Watkins. I have great memories of his time at Country Club Hills Baptist Church in IL, and of his and Mrs. Watkins's friendship with my parents over many years until their deaths. Knowing he is with his Saviour now is a comfort, I know; but Kent and I will be praying for extra and continued comfort for Mrs. Watkins, Kelly, Kerry, and the grandchildren he was blessed to have! Why is the "Bill Grogan's Goat" song going through my head right now? Ah, he was an amazing man, talented, a one-of-a-kind pastor and I'm thrilled to have known him. Lord bless his dear family!
