Ted Roosevelt Miller
Ted “Punky” Roosevelt Miller, 85, of West Branch, passed away Friday, June 16, 2023 at UIHC surrounded by his loving family. An inurnment at Memory Gardens will take place on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, 2:00pm. A Celebration of Life at the Iowa City Moose Lodge will immediately follow.
Ted was born December 25, 1937 in Dubuque, IA to Theodore and Dorothy Miller. He graduated from Dubuque Senior in 1954. After graduation he served in the US Navy from 1955-1959 and the US Navy Reserves from 1959-1963. He was united in marriage to Doris Ihm on February 24, 1962. He worked for the Dubuque Telegraph Herald as a printer from 1964-1976, then Bankers Advertising Co. from 1976 until his retirement in 2002.
Ted enjoyed dancing, fishing, camping, hunting, playing cards, watching his grandkids play sports, going to the casino, and his nightly ice cream and popcorn. He appreciated any time spent with family. In the winter months, he enjoyed going to Texas with Renee.
Survivors include his children, Brenda (Joe), Dan, Jeff (Traci), Joe (Krystal), Ted (Sherry), and Tom; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Mike; and ex wife, Doris.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lori; and siblings, Diane, Dick, and Vicki; and longtime partner, Renee McElderry.
