Robert E. Ozburn

Robert (Bob / OZ) E. Ozburn, 70, of Marion, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, . In keeping with Bob’s wishes there will be a celebration of life.

Robert was born on March 12, 1953 to Duane and Dorothy (Schwarting) Ozburn in Cedar Rapids. He was united in marriage to his soul mate, Elaine Baily on September 8th, 1990.  Bob was a metal fabricator at Harnischfeger Manufacturing and Iowa Man Manufacturing, then finished his career at Pickwick Manufacturing. He was an avid car enthusiast, his passion was building engines, everything from the golf cart to his hot rods. He loved his annual trips to Cordova Raceway with his friends. He enjoyed spending summers fishing and boating with his wife Elaine on the Cedar River. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his sons and following his grandchildren’s activities.

Bob’s special gathering place was his garage. Affectionately known as “Bitchin Bob’s Barter Barn”. With the tv on, music playing, and cold Busch Lite in the fridge. Many, many, many good times were had, friends old and new were always welcome.

Those left to cherish Bob’s memory are his wife, Elaine; his children Adam Ozburn (Lisa) and Chad Ozburn (Rachel); grandchildren Morgan, Kael, Mekare, Kiaen, Chloe Grace, Asyiah and Abby. Siblings Jerry Ozburn (Deb) and family, Ty Ozburn (Karen) and family and Kathy Offerman (Rick).
