Laghana Graves

LaGhana Lenora Lennett Graves, also known as Ms. Pepper, was born on January 27, 1949, to the parents of Clara O. Lewis and Charles L. Graves in Oakland, California.  Anyone who knew Ms. Pepper knew that she stayed having a lot of pep in her step and was always ready to work that camera whether or not she was glammed up or not.

Ms. Pepper had an obsession with butterflies, so much that she even had a 5-foot-tall mirror in the shape of a butterfly. Her hobbies were making her own wigs and making Tik Tok videos. Her love for her grand babies and great-grand babies was like no other.

Ms. Pepper gained her angel wings on June 7, 2023, at the Silver Oaks Facility.

She is survived by her two daughters, Martina Whitt, Andrea Holman, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. LaGhana is preceded in death by her mother, Clara O. Lewis, father, Charles L. Graves, sisters, Rita, Verlie, daughter, Lenora, granddaughter, Annastasia, and best friend, Barbara.

LaGhana was a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will be missed dearly and when we see a butterfly, that’s when we’ll know that she’s around.
