David Carl Miller

David Carl Miller, 78, of West Burlington, died Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Danville Care Center. A memorial service will take place at 10am Saturday, June 24th at Peace Lutheran Church, 13646 Beaverdale Rd, W. Burlington, IA 52655, with burial immediately following at Prairie Grove Cemetery.

David was born December 6, 1944 to Carl E. and Pauline E. (Hanger) Miller. He married Barbara Ann Criner on March 10, 1967 and they later divorced. Dave grew up working on his family’s farm, which he loved. He was then employed for many years as a welder at Balzer’s Radiator and Welding in West Burlington, IA, he taught welding through SCC at the Ft. Madison Penitentiary, and ended his career at Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. He was a member of Player’s Workshop and loved to sing and act. Dave’s faith was very important to him and he regularly attended a men’s bible study.

Survivors include his 3 children, Jennifer Lynn (Miller) Senft of Glendale, AZ, Matthew Carl (Kimberly) Miller of Denmark, IA and Leah (Miller) Carson of Burlington, IA; 2 brothers Timothy Allen (Debra) Miller of Humboldt, IA and Paul Jonathan (Sally) Miller of West Burlington, IA; 4 grandchildren; Paige, Jenna, Justin, and Jacob; and aunt, Ruth Ann Griggs of Burlington, IA. David was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard Dennis Miller. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s memory to Player’s Workshop.
